UUM ONLINE: Jakarta - The sealing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) is expected to enhance the global reputation of both universities.

UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, expressed gratitude towards Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) for selecting UUM as its collaborative partner not only in the academic field but also in research, student mobility programmes, and academic staff exchanges.

In fact, I would like to extend an invitation to lecturers at UMJ to pursue their studies at UUM at the S3 level (PhD).

“I fervently hope that the collaboration would yield mutual benefits in the academic realm for both Malaysia and Indonesia particularly,” he said during the MoU Signing Ceremony between Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) held last Tuesday at the Kasman Singodimedjo Auditorium.

Meanwhile, according to the Rector of UMJ, Dr. Ma'mun Murad, the divergences existing between UMJ and UUM have facilitated a productive collaboration between the two universities, ultimately resulting in mutual advantages for all stakeholders involved.

He further reiterated that despite the fact that UUM is in its formative years relative to UMJ, they are prepared to acquire knowledge from UUM, particularly with regards to ranking strategies, in order to enhance the reputation of UMJ.

An 'Academic Talk' was also held featuring the Dean of the School of Multimedia Technology and Communication (SMMTC), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Khairie Ahmad and moderated by Mr. Amin Shabana and Mr. Daniel Handoko.
